Pietra Barrasso
Pietra Barrasso

Pietra Barrasso, Master of Contemporary Art and Light, is an artist recognized for her exploration of light, matter, and spiritual energy. Her poetics transforms inner experience into a universal visual language, where color, gesture, and vibration become instruments of revelation.

Master of Contemporary Art and Light, Pietra Barrasso is an artist who has always engaged in dialogue with light, matter, and spiritual energy. Her research stems from a profound desire to translate inner experience into visual form, making painting a universal, emotional, and spiritual language. Dubbed by critics as a "Master of Light," light is the beating heart of her poetics. It is not merely a chromatic element, but a sign of transcendence, a living presence that crosses the canvas and invites a gaze beyond the visible. The light she paints is memory, emotion, healing: it becomes the voice of the soul, a space for rebirth.

In her works, matter is alive and conscious; she works it through layering, incisions, and vibrations that transform the surface into an expressive territory. She uses color as a spiritual vehicle, allowing every pictorial gesture to be a trace of feeling, silence, and creative energy.

Her artistic path is, above all, a spiritual journey. Each work originates from deep listening, an inner urgency, an invisible connection with that which transcends us. She believes in an art that is not limited to being looked at, but that touches, embraces, and elevates.

She shares this journey: made of light and shadow, of color and contemplation, of energy that becomes form. A journey that continues, canvas after canvas, in an open dialogue with those who pause to observe.

She was invited to the 54th Venice Biennale of Art by Vittorio Sgarbi. By direct invitation, she joined MetaFormismo© and took part in numerous exhibitions of the traveling event L’Arte Contemporanea nelle Antiche Dimore©, as well as L’Arte e il Tempo©, an official event of Expo Milano 2015, both conceived and curated by Prof. Giulia Sillato.
