Pietra Barrasso studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Naples, where she chose the painting department. She later deepened her training with a specialization in advertising graphics and photography. During her artistic journey, she met the master Antonio Corpora, becoming his student and inheriting part of his sensitivity toward matter and colour.
She took part in the 54th Venice Biennale under the curatorship of Vittorio Sgarbi, strengthening her presence on the international art scene.
By direct invitation, she joined MetaFormismo©, a movement in which she has participated consistently across numerous editions of the itinerant exhibition L’Arte Contemporanea nelle Antiche Dimore©. She also took part in L’Arte e il Tempo©, an official event of Expo Milano 2015, both conceived and directed by Prof. Giulia Sillato.

Pietra Barrasso presenta “Porta di Luce” a Gubbio – CARI MAESTRI 2026
From October 3 to November 4, 2026, Pietra Barrasso will take part in the prestigious CARI MAESTRI exhibition in Gubbio, curated by Prof. Giammarco Puntelli. The artist will present Porta di Luce, a painting that explores luminosity as a spiritual and regenerative principle. In the work, light becomes living matter: it crosses the color, vibrates through shades of gold, green, and blue, and ultimately transforms into a symbol of rebirth and transcendence. The painting invites the viewer to cross an inner threshold, where pictorial language becomes an experience of contemplation and hope.
The exhibition unfolds across three symbolic venues in the city — Santa Maria Nuova Church, Taverna dei Capitani Gallery at Palazzo dei Consoli, and the Diocesan Museum — creating an immersive journey through art, history, and spirituality. Porta di Luce reaffirms the luminous poetics that define Pietra Barrasso’s artistic research.
